Tokyopop published the first seven volumes of Bizenghast from to , with the final volume published in July through an agreement with Right Stuf. I heard from a friend a while back that M. Alice LeGrow had originally intended to make Bizenghast a 13 volume series, because of TOKYOPOP shutting down before volume 8 could be released, she decided to make 8 the final volume, because whatever she had to do (not self-publishing, since TOKYOPOP holds partial rights to Bizenghast even right now.
